For me, writing and photographing landscapes goes hand in hand with design. The processes of observing and documenting landscapes over time allow me to understand the elements of design, from grading and earthwork to plant communities, microclimates, and aesthetic composition, at a deeper level. 

 

I have worked as a landscape designer in Australia and the US in diverse climates and ecosystems. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Ecological Design from the University of Vermont and a Masters in Landscape Architecture from the University of Colorado Denver and bring this combination of study and practice, theory and experience to each project.
